The primary responsibility of the Program Director of SEL is to oversee the district’s Partnership in Social and Emotional Learning Initiative (PSELI) grant and all action steps included in the strategic plan. This includes grant management, building district SEL capacity, oversight of SEL curriculum and planning, aligning practices with BPS SEL partners, implementing SEL, professional development, continuous improvement and communicating and engaging with stakeholders.

Boston Public Schools is looking for a Safe and Welcoming School Interventionist.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Safe and Welcoming Schools, the Intervention Specialist will develop, choose, monitor and teach a comprehensive prevention curriculum as a part of the Succeed Program team. The Intervention Specialist delivers prevention curriculum in both group and individual settings. In addition to classroom and curriculum responsibilities, the Intervention Specialist consults with and acts as a resource to the Safe and Welcoming School Specialists and school Student Support Teams by developing or identifying tools and providing technical assistance or instructional coaching to teachers and SST members.

Transforming Education in Boston is searching for a District Partnerships Manager to coordinate and oversee a set of technical assistance and consulting partnerships with schools, districts, and CMOs that aim to equip students with the mindsets, essential skills and habits (MESH) they need to succeed. The District Partnerships Manager will collaborate closely with our internal team and expert advisors, leveraging the latest research on MESH to inform classroom practice and support practitioners in using a data-informed approach to further students’ MESH development. Successful candidates will have a deep knowledge of the literature on MESH and related fields (e.g. social-emotional learning, developmental psychology, etc.) as well as significant experience working with schools, districts, and/or CMOs.

We are very excited to announce that we are searching for a Chief of Staff. This team member will work closely with the Executive Director on strategy and project management across the organization. S/he will also manage all operations, serving as the internal point person for our outsourced HR and finance support. We’re looking for an entrepreneurial team player with a strategic mind and a passion for organizational effectiveness who shares our belief in MESH.
We are also searching for an experienced Director of Policy and Communications who can develop a multi-year policy and communications plan aligned to our strategic goals. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Director of District Partnerships, s/he will provide technical assistance to districts and state departments of education in implementing policies that support the assessment and development of students’ MESH skills.
In addition to these two roles, we anticipate hiring a Communications and Development Associate and a Research Associate later this summer. More information to come on that soon.
